1962 - USS Cusk (SS-348) Year by Year History Crewmembers, Pictures and Memorabilia In 1962 the Cusk was in WestPac which included a Cuban Missile Crisis deployment to the Yellow Sea south of Korea for a 28 day patrol. Captain Campbell, CDR assumed command of the Cusk from LCDR W. T. Mawhiney. Ports of call during this WestPac included a stop in Chin He, South Korea, two stops in Hong Kong for R&R and one in Kobe, Japan for training. Other stops were made in Sasebo and Yokosuka, Japan, Okinawa, and Subic Bay, Philippines.
